Rob has nearly 30 years of industry experience spending the last decade serving as chief investment officer at Dow, Inc. In his role as CIO, he built an award-winning investment program designed to meet the retirement needs of more than 100,000 global pension plan participants. In addition to assets dedicated to benefits and retirement programs, he had direct responsibility for roughly $2.5 billion of return-generating assets in his company’s captive reinsurance subsidiaries. In total, Rob acted as the allocator for assets in excess of $30 billion where he met extremely challenging return targets.
As CIO and fiduciary to the company’s defined contribution plan, he drove his team to re-design the investment platform used by employees and retirees to transform $10 billion of their savings into a more secure retirement. Over the years, the investment platform was recognized several times by industry peers and experts as enabling an increased standard of living — along the journey and at retirement — due to a keen quantitative focus on constructing high-performing, diversified portfolios with high risk-efficiency at the lowest possible cost.
Rob takes great pleasure in tackling portfolio construction challenges to bolster investment returns for institutions big and small. Rob’s skills as an institutional investor have had meaningfully positive impact on pension plans, endowments, non-profits and family offices. He is a creative and collaborative partner, often sought out by peers and clients alike.
